The big event of the past summer has been Sanka's participation in the World Sailing Youth World Championship in Netherlands.

Sanka qualified during the Wesmex regatta to represent Mexico in the 2022 Allianz Youth World Championship in The Hague, Netherlands which was held from July 8-15.

This championship was a great experience, I learned a lot. The wind didn't let us complete all the races planned, but that's part of this sport. The current was a very important part of the regatta because it was very strong, sailing with sometimes little wind and a lot of current was challenging but fun. We also had days of good wind.

This unique championship is in Olympic format, i.e. each country represented can have one boat per category. The categories are the same as in the Olympic Games, but in youth version.

Sanka competed in the ILCA 6 men's category, the largest fleet of the entire championship.

It is worth mentioning that Yann was chosen as the coach for the Mexican team.

The categories were as follows:

  • ILCA 6 men's and women's
  • Nacra 17 mixed
  • 29er men and women
  • IQ foiling for men and women
